The loss of a larger number of teeth causes impairment of the function of mouth (reduced efficiency of chewing, altered speech), but also to impairment of esthetics (reduced lower third of the face, expressed lines between the nose and lips, as well as the lines above the chin). Prosthetic dentistry deals with the rehabilitation of the looks, health and function of the oral cavity, by replacing missing teeth and other structures in the mouth.
Prosthodontic appliances (prostheses) can be fixed and removable, and they can be attached to the teeth or to the dental implants. At our dental clinic, we make prostheses of quality materials: metal-ceramic and all ceramic crowns, bridges, partial and total dentures, indirect composite/ceramic inlays and onlays, veneers…
By photographing the present condition of your teeth, face analysis and DSD (Digital Smile Design) we have the possibility to show you in advance what will be the esthetic outcome of prostheses, and to plan interventions necessary to achieve optimal esthetic results.
When the teeth and surrounding tissues are adequately prepared for prosthodontics, the preparation (tooth grinding) is initiated.
After taking dental impressions and scanning the model of your teeth (CAI – Computer Aided Inspection), dental technician uses the software in order to design – on the obtained virtual model – the base of the prosthesis, the whole prosthesis and/or temporary teeth (CAD – Computer Aided Design).
Depending on the type of prosthesis to be manufactured, the next step is stereolitographic manufacturing (the so-called 3D printing) or computer controlled cutting of the prosthesis out of the material block (CAM – Computer Aided Manufacturing).
Human eyes and human touch are usually needed for finishing prosthesis. Our technician takes care that your new teeth look naturall, to match your physiognomy and fulfill your wishes.
